UI / UX Design
Restaurant Piquin
A strategic redesign aimed at transforming a generic webpage into an authentic digital experience. This project deconstructs the current design and rebuilds it to accurately reflect the depth and personality of Mexico's gastronomic heritage.
Year :
2025
Industry :
Food/Restaurants
Client :
School Project ESD
Project Duration :
6 weeks

Problem :
The webpage's design presented a significant disconnect from the rich, complex narrative of Mexican gastronomy. It relied on generic visuals and a superficial design language.
This failure creates an impersonal user experience that lacks personality and authority, ultimately failing to engage visitors or accurately convey the unique heritage the brand represents.

Solution :
The proposal solves the problem by introducing an authentic visual identity rooted in Mexican heritage. It strategically avoids stereotypes, instead using a refined, earthy color palette and high-quality, professional photography of the food, ambiance, and chef to build a personal connection.
The clean, modern layout—accented with subtle botanical illustrations—creates a premium yet culturally resonant feel. By prominently featuring awards and trust signals, the new design successfully communicates a narrative of quality and expertise, delivering a personal and accurate digital experience.

Challenge :
A primary challenge was balancing modern, clean web design with a sense of authentic, rustic warmth. The goal was to create a site that feels premium and easy to navigate (using white space, clear fonts, and a simple grid) without becoming sterile or generic.
The challenge was to thoughtfully integrate "personal" cultural elements—like the botanical illustrations and earthy color palette—in a way that felt sophisticated and genuine, rather than just "decorating" a template.
Summary :
This project is a strategic redesign of a webpage to correct its generic, impersonal, and inaccurate portrayal of Mexican gastronomic heritage. The primary challenge was to fuse a clean, modern aesthetic with a sense of authentic cultural warmth.
The solution is a sophisticated new visual identity that uses an earthy color palette, high-quality photography of the food and chef, and subtle botanical illustrations. This new design successfully transforms the digital presence into a premium, personal, and culturally-rich experience that builds trust and communicates true authenticity.
